| “Calzada
de Amador” (Causeway):
Is
one of the most beautiful places of the City of Panama and
visited by Panamanians who go to take walks and relax. Has
a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean, the entrance to
the Panama Canal and the city. There are a variety of activities
to do, during the day and night, also. The “Calzada
de Amador” joins the islands of Culebra, Naos, Perico
and Flamenco. As a curious fact, for its building, material
extracted from the excavations of the dredging of the Panama
Canal was used.

The Causeway has a Shopping Center, all types of restaurants,
a marina for boats and yachts, excellent bars and discotheques;
it is also a great place to do outdoors exercise, you can
walk or ride a bike enjoying the beautiful view.
"Mi Pueblito":
This
tourist site is located at the bottom of the “Cerro
Ancon”, it is a place were you can appreciate the
folkloric traditions of Panama, specially of the province
of Herrera and Los Santos. Various styles that identify
the different regions of Panama are exhibited. You will
find a church, an exhibition of “polleras” (with
accessories), restaurants, replicas of a mail and telegraph
office; a bedroom, a living room, a study and a kitchen,
with the purpose that the foreign of national visitors get
to know more about the traditions of the country. In the
tourist complex, you can also get to visit a replica of
an Afro-West Indian Town of the Caribbean culture. This
ethnic group arrived to our country for the construction
of the Panama Canal by the initiative of the Americans,
who were responsible of the construction. In addition you
can find an Indian Town (first inhabitants of Panama), were
you can appreciate their customs, houses, etc. Of the principal
Indian cultures of our country as; Ngobe Bugle, Wounann
and Kunas.

Panama’s Railroad:
In the year 1855 the Panama Railroad was built with the
purpose to transport great quantities of people and freight
from the City of Panama to the City of Colon and vice versa,
it was paid with gold. Today, the Panama Canal Railway Company,
through a concession of 50 years, rebuilt the new Panama
Railway at an approximate cost of $80 million dollars with
the purpose to transport faster and comfortably the people
who travel to Colon, for business or pleasure, taking advantage
of the beauty of the historic journey. Also containers are
transported to the City of Colon. The passenger coaches
have space for 50 persons and are accommodated with sofas,
tables and big windows so the beautiful panorama can be
appreciated during the trip, passing through a tropical
jungle, and boarding the famous Panama Canal.
