Demography

• Density of the population is 42.0 (habitants per square kilometers)
• 70% of the population is mestizo, 10% is white, 12% is black and 8% is native.
• Information based in the year 2005. Between 0 and 15 years: (30.7%), older than 65 years: (6%). The majority of the population is between 15 and 65 years old (63.7%).

Language
The official language is Spanish, followed by English as second language (it is taught in most schools in Panama)
Health & Security

The Republic of Panama has many qualified private hospitals, with excellent medical service for any type of emergency. Panama has hospitals allied to recognized hospitals in the USA, for example the recently opened Punta Pacifica Hospital that in alliance with the John Hopkins International Medicine (www.hopkinsmedicine.org) offers new medical services, like intelligent operation rooms, that allow to perform operations through video conference, direct consultation with United States specialists, applied technology to the radiology rooms and internal communication to send lab results directly to doctors offices.
The Health Ministry of Panama (MINSA, initials in Spanish) has worked to achieve many advances to guarantee the Panamanian health. In regard to health and well being respects it is important to point out that Panama, is the only country in Latin America were you can drink water directly from the faucet without any health risk
